Terms and Conditions

Last updated: January 2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Ask Adab (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Service.

Important Notice

Ask Adab is a clarity platform. It does not issue fatwas, deliver personalised rulings, or replace qualified scholars—especially for complex, personal, legal, or situational matters.

1. Who We Are

Ask Adab (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides a platform designed to help users understand Islamic guidance within recognised scholarly traditions. The Service is offered on an early access basis and may evolve over time.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using Ask Adab, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Early Access and Availability

Ask Adab may be offered in a limited or private phase. We may restrict access, pause availability, or modify features at any time to protect system integrity, safety, and quality.

4. What Ask Adab Is — and Is Not

Ask Adab is designed to support understanding with restraint. It is not:

  • A fatwa-issuing authority
  • A replacement for qualified scholars in complex personal matters
  • A single interpretation imposed on all users
  • Cultural norms presented as religious duty
  • A debate platform or opinion engine

Ask Adab does not tell you what to do. It explains what the tradition establishes, so you can act with understanding and responsibility.

5. No Professional, Legal, or Medical Advice

Ask Adab does not provide professional legal, medical, financial, or other regulated advice. If you require such advice, you should consult an appropriately qualified professional.

6. Your Responsibilities

When using Ask Adab, you agree to:

  • Use the Service respectfully and in good faith
  • Not rely on the Service for urgent, emergency, or high-stakes decisions
  • Seek qualified scholarly counsel for complex personal, legal, or situational matters
  • Provide accurate information where requested (such as an email address for early access)

7. Prohibited Use

You must not:

  • Use the Service to promote hatred, harassment, or unlawful conduct
  • Attempt to exploit the Service to produce harmful, deceptive, or coercive content
  • Reverse engineer, probe, or disrupt the Service or its security
  • Attempt to access systems, accounts, or data without authorisation
  • Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or overload the Service

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, branding, text, and other content, is owned by Ask Adab or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.

9. User Content and Feedback

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you agree that Ask Adab may use them to improve the Service without obligation to compensate you.

10. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service may reference or link to third-party websites or services. Ask Adab does not control and is not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of third-party platforms.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ask Adab will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Ask Adab harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or breach of these Terms.

14. Termination

Ask Adab may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated or the Service has been misused. You may stop using the Service at any time.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Ask Adab evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated revision date. Continued use of the Service after changes indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Ask Adab operates, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
